About This Course
The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Information Technology (IT) is a vocational high school completion programme designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for a career in the IT industry. This 12-month programme covers a wide range of IT-related topics, including computer hardware and software, programming, and digital media.
In addition to technical skills, the program also focuses on developing key employability skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. These skills are highly valued by employers and will be beneficial for students as they progress in their careers.
Course outline
The course is made up of a number of units, each of which focuses on a specific topic. Some of the units that students can expect to study include:
- IT User Fundamentals: This unit provides an introduction to IT systems and software, including computer hardware and operating systems, and the use of common software applications.
- Programming Fundamentals: This unit covers the basics of programming, including data types, variables, and control structures.
- IT Systems Security: Students will learn about the importance of IT systems security and the measures that can be taken to protect them.
